The digital display on my '12 Grand Sport is so dim I can't read it (Not the heads-up display, but the odometer, etc.) It kinda acts like it auto-dimmed for night driving. I thought I'd accidentally turned the **** but I hadn't. Any ideas? Please don't tell me the cluster is shot. I can't afford to replace it.
Sarge, the first thing I would do is get out the service manual and find the section for troubleshooting the ambient light sensor. Figure out if that sensor is behaving properly.
Have you tried using that button on the lower left side of the dash? Push it in and turn it. I wasn't sure whether that's what you were talking about or not.
Thanks for all the replies. I have tried to adjust the light by turning the **** clockwise with no result. The car is 150 miles away. I will be there in 2 days. I'm going to try the **** again. Maybe I'm not holding it long enough. If that doesn't help I'll look into replacing the sensor. Is there a way to test the sensor before I go through that trouble?
I'm embarrassed to say it appears that the dash mat I put on the car covers the sensor just enough to dim the lights. The lights seem to be working properly now. I'll let you know if that changes.
