Default Strange red push button - 2005 C6 Base

Does anybody recognize this red push button connecter? It’s behind the battery down in the wheel well. If I remember correctly, and I’m not saying I do, there are two of them.

That is not a push button but rather a cap. Looks like GM may have used a two terminal connector to connect one wire.

I have two of those in your described location but my car is a 2009 Z06 (the battery is in the trunk). The second connector lays horizontal. Both of them are definitely caps.

I checked again. One wire goes into the connector and one wire leaves the connector. The exit side of the second terminal is also capped.

The only difference between your picture and mine are the caps are an orange silicon rubber material.

Hey thanks for the reply. Can you push the red one like a button?

Yes, but there is no detent. It is a soft mushy feel on both the inlet and exit side of the second (wire) terminal. It is not a switch.

I did not try but I bet I could pull the plug out.

I believe the second wire (capped) terminal does nothing.

I tried to take a picture but I could not get the lighting right.
