Back up camera and GPS
I want to put in a back up camera and navigation, any suggestion on replacement units that fit what I'm looking for and works well with this type vehicle?
Thanks in advance.

Crutchfield is your friend and installation customer support is great. My rep (Red) set me up with everything I needed installation wise. I just did my installation about 2 months ago; head unit, amp, 6 speakers, both front & rear cameras. Bose amp blew, not necessary to mess with center dash speaker, just disconnect it. I agree to use your phone for the Maps (Google/Waze) and not a GPS headunit that requires manual map updates.I went with a Kenwood headunit that specifically had a physical push button to activate the cameras (DDX9707S). It's an Android wireless unit. Cam button is a great feature at your finger tips to manually activate either one at any time. Reverse cam comes on automatically in R and the HU has a feature that allows auto activation of the front camera for 5-15 seconds when coming out of reverse. The cam button on the HU is nice when pulling into a spot. Tap the cam button and then Front on the display for the cam view. It is a deep unit and fit, but a little snug with all the wiring from the PAC unit. Hindsight, maybe would've gotten the one that looks like it's 1/2 the thickness of the headunit, but it was at a great price.
Only 1 CON - Wireless Android does drop frequently, at least once every 30 minutes for 30 seconds to a minute. That can be crucial if you're using a map and it goes to its connectivity screen and the map disappears. I still utilize mostly the wired connection for charging and connection stability.
Phone Holder - ProClip Angled Dash Mount #854233 with holder to your phone make & version. As you will see it mounts, directly next to the HU so there's no issue with phone being too far/obstructed with wireless signal loss.
Crutchfield - pay the $25 and have them wire the PAC RP5-GM11 Wiring Interface to save yourself a lot of time. I used it and it retained all of my steering wheel controls (Bluetooth & Radio) default controls.
Cameras - I would recommend a license plate cam for at least the rear and both if a front plate is required for your state. License plate cam (Amazon ) will be centered and not skewed off angle, just a bit more easier and possibly accurate than one flush mounted off center by the license plate lights. I don't have a front plate, so went with the round on that just presses into one of the honeycomb openings in the grill (Amazon ). Has stayed put and aligned from day one as a daily driver.
Amp - used Kicker 47KEY200.4 which was the perfect size to fit in the space where the Bose Amp was. Didn't feel like redoing everything to fit amp behind a seat.
Speakers - JL Audio C2650 for front doors (6-3/4" Sub/ 1" Tweeter/Crossover) and Polk Audio DB 522 4-1/2" for rear. Rear speakers, don't tap off factory wiring if you want to be able to us Left/Right independently. Metra C6 dash kit for headunit and speakers both worked great too.
Console - while you have it all apart consider replacing the cigarette light and then the Aux Port that is in the Center Console. In the image the one with the LED I used in the Lighter area and tapped off the lighter wiring. The connector with the 2 different sized USB ports I used in under the console lid and it connects to the 2 Kenwood USB cables for power and data. Required no modification to either OEM opening.
Whatever you do make it your own system and test everything before reassembling console. Any questions at all, let me know. Cheers

Crutchfield also has an Alpine iLX-407 that seems comparable but I have the same questions for that unit too.

I would definitely recommend the 9708S, it has much much more power than the factory unit and of course has Apple Car Play, and all the fancy software. I haven't looked into if it can load external files/images, like the Corvette flags, i'll check into that too. I would not hesitate to purchase this unit again if i was doing it over.
