I had my C6 detailed yesterday and for some reason both my mirror lights are on and I can’t turn them off

Anybody have any idea what I can do to get the lights off?

I know the battery saver will turn them off after 20 minutes but they’re both on all the time now and that’s annoying

Hope someone has an answer

Thanks

With the engine running, press once and release the small button on the lower left side of the dash. Nothing visible will happen until you turn the engine off, then the mirror lights should go off. If not, press the button on the mirror light.

You can pull the courtesy lamp fuse as an interim solution until you get it sorted out.

Unless something weird is going on either the buttons on the mirror are on or the lamp switch has been pushed to keep them on.

Do you happen to know which fuse because courtesy lamps are not listed in the fuse block diagram in the manual.?

I found that the fuse is in the passenger side fuse box. But there is no illustration in the manual and I’m old with and my old eyes can’t read the that fuse box and so don’t know which fuse it is.

Can you send me a picture of that fuse block with the fuse marked ???!

I don't really have a way to mark it, but here is a pic of the passenger side floorboard fuse box.

In the pic, look at the designation "Run Crank" On the right side of that and 2 fuses down is a fuse labeled "CTSY/LAMP'. I think that's the one you want.

I had it once a few months back.
Disconnected the battery for a few minutes, and it was resolved.
Didnt happen to me again

I have to ask....did you try the buttons on the mirror? Detailer possibly turned them on accidentally.

IIRC buttons work opposite to the way you think they should. Pushed in (up) is off. Lights are on when the buttons are extended (down).

Also they stay on after cut them off if you exit the car for a minute or so.......make sure you're sitting in the car with it running and doors shut to cut them off so you know where you are at...When they are off then they are really off...

good luck...they are easy to bump cleaning the car...

I replaced mine with LED's noticed one time in my dark garage a faint glow from them. Car had been off and sitting for days never tracked it down doesnt seem to be consistant. I dont know if it was becasue of the cheap LEDs somehow getting a little voltage or some other reason kicking them on....

No idea if this is your problem, esp if you didn't replace bulbs but its all i got, other than push the dimmer and/or buttons.

Yes I do. These lights are controlled by the Instrument panel light dimmer switch. You turn the **** to the left or right to brighten or dim the instrument panel lights. If you push in on this **** it will turn on or off the interior lights in the rear view mirror. It happens to me all the time when I am detailing the car. See page 3-19 of the owners manual. It explains the operation of these lights. Make sure the switches on the rear view mirror are in the correct position. I believe that the mirror buttons need to be pushed in for the lights to be off and released to turn the lights on at the mirror.

Seijack has it right. I found out the hard way when I took my wife to the dealer to look at my C6 and the battery was dead. I had tested everything I could my first visit and must have left the interior light on. It took forever to figure out how to turn them off.

Thanks for this....I've had two previous C6s and for some reason was of the mindset that the 'down' position was off and have been standing in the dark, cold garage staring at the damn lights.....

DUH!
