Default New battery resolves “Service Traction…” error

Dash lit up one morning with “Service Traction System” error. Replaced the weak battery (52% on the battery tester) and the problem was eliminated.

Probably also time to install the new Mechman 170 alternator sitting on the garage bench in order to keep the new battery charged. Factory alternator does not generate enough voltage (10v) under load on hot days

“Service Traction System”
Hi Chase this problem for a while and in the end a new battery fixed it. Get a new battery first! I had my battery tested and they said it was fine so I changed everything else . Then I took it to the mechanic and the first thing he did was put a battery in it fixed.

If I were to buy a C6 again the first thing I would do is clean all the body grounds add a couple grounds from the engine to the body than a new battery interstate and a factory alternator. That would've saved me a lot of problems not only that I have service traction system light I also had service charging system which was fixed by cleaning grounds. I had already purchased an alternator and still got the service charging system.

Batteries are a common root of various electrical related issues on these cars. As stated above check all the grounds on the electrical system just to make sure that is not part of the problem.
