My corvette is parked on the street. With a new, expensive, ls7 replacement getting finalized I would like to put an ignition kill switch in it. Has anyone done this? I spent some time searching and most people said it can’t be stolen without the fob or a tow truck. With advances by thieves, they can now clone the rfid from the fob pretty easily.

Any suggestions?
If you love your vette (obviously you do) find a garage where it can be parked our of sight safely. IMO it’s simply begging for bad issues to happen leaving a really cool looking car on the street. Every dirtbag perp will see it as target to steal or damage. Sad but that’s how things are now especially in certain areas of the county. A kill switch will only provide a false sense of security imo.

unfortunately there is no garage option. I live in a condo in a nice Seattle suburb. The car won’t clear the entrance tap to where my fiancé parks. Ground clearance issue. So I literally have to park on the street.
Is your car your daily driver? If not, why can't you find a garage or something and pay to store it when not being used?
Go to a local car audio / alarm / tint place and ask what they could install.
Years ago (20+) I had an alarm on a car that had sensors if it was lifted past a certain degree (car towing) and it had a feature that locked the hood to prevent thieves from opening the door and then popping the hood to disarm the battery & alarm.
I'm sure there's better stuff out there now. Best of luck.

The car is going to get vandalized or stolen.
So on that note, keep the full coverage insurance up (including making sure that is aftermarket,is also covered in the policy), and you can us that money after the fact, to get a car that is safer to part on the street. Hence just having the car vandalized, could end up with the insurance company totally the car.
And yes, it not just the Vets, since had a friend build up a 70 Chevelle in Denver, did the park the car in front of the house thing, and car was stolen in a matter of weeks; banking that is was in mexico within 48 hours, getting new Mexican plates and registration on it.
Simply, you want nice toys, then need a place to store it away from the public when not driving it, or your not going to have it long.
There’s your problem. Gotta get a beater for a DD and park your Vette somewhere safe indoors.
Or find a condo/apt that has garages available. I have to have a second residence due to work, and a requirement was that whatever I found had to have a private garage (and this is not even for my Z06 as that stays home). I pay $100/month on top of my rent for the garage. My apt is gated/controlled access & in a really nice area, but the extra $100 is still worth it to me.
I wouldn't have expensive/sports cars if I didn't have a garage for them, but that's just me.
Probably agreed value insurance. Parked on the street in a city like Seattle with the reported crime issues there, if someone wants it, it will be gone quickly.
