Would you rather have?
Or..
A C5 Z06 with a 416 LS3/TFS 245's/Fast 102/EPS 244/256 114+3
The deal is, I already have the 416 LS3. I built it a few years ago for my 2002 WS6. I am now selling the WS6 and the 416 that I put in it was never fired. Just periodically turned over by hand... So it's a 100% fresh motor that should make great power.
I've already had a C5Z and admittedly, it was a blast. It was heads/cam/intake. I can only imagine what it would have been like with this 416 LS3 in it. That's what I'm considering doing now on the one hand.
On the other... a C6Z, which I've never owned. There's about 10-15k difference in the cars it looks like.... so I'm wondering, which would you guys do?
Take the C5 at 10-15k less with the 416 that I already have?
Or just sell the 416 and move into the LS7 C6Z?
I'm stuck.
Wondering if you've driven a C6 Z06? Experienced a stock LS7 up close & personal?
If not do so ASAP, your questions will anwser themselves.
In any event my vote's C6 Z06, hands-down.

And in stock form, C6 Z06 is more than a hand full on a road course track for 90% of the owners, and faster lap times has nothing to do with any need modes on the car. hence already has more then enough HP to being with, and adding more power may make then a second faster down the straight, but 10 seconds lower in the technical section isntead.
As for playing rolling race or strip racing games, neither, since the independence rear suspension is the weak link for the car in a straight line (amount of G's you can throw at it before it breaks), and better cars with solid rear ends that can be made to run a hell of lot faster/ out of the hole with higher G loads instead.
Sure you can sit around and talk about how much horsepower your LS7 makes with its free flowing heads, massive stock camshaft and how wide those 325's look.
You're gonna need money to address the heads, they are still depreciating and take a while to sell. There are plenty of C6 Z06's available.
You sold the most appreciating modern car GM made in the 90's and early 00's. A great condition WS6 is hard to find, fun and cheap cheap cheap to run. Next year you will find they will go for more than a C6 Z06.
It is your decision.
And, I love the WS6's, I've had 4 of them over the years (and 3 SS's). They are a blast too... The F-cars are wonderful, but, and this is only my opinion, but getting behind the wheel of a C5Z or even the C6 LS3 that I had, they are two completely different cars as compared to the fbody. The C5 and 6 just feel like so much more car, again, to me... I get that everyone is different.
Thanks for the advice everyone!
