I’m writing a little “what the car is” thing to put on my 11 gs for a show. In my paperwork I have the R8C code that says museum delivery. Googled and conflicted answers. What exactly does this mean?
It basically means whoever originally owned your car picked it up at the National Corvette Museum, its a long running program that they've done thats an added option. Just adds a sticker somewhere on the inside of your door, no real added value to the car beyond the sentimental value to the original owner.

that’s kinda cool tho. Thanks for the prompt reply
The vehicle gets delivered across the street to the Museum. Their PDI specialists perform the PDI on the vehicle, then it get's displayed out on Corvette Blvd, you get an individual guided tour of the Museum, you get a tour of the plant, receive a plaque highlighting the delivery, and then they deliver the vehicle to you, take time to show you all the features, etc.
Back in the day it used to cost $495, then $995, now it's $1,495 on top of the standard destination charge. The Museum offers the program for owners after the fact as well for $500. I did it last Summer and it was worth the $500 even though our plant tour was canceled the day before & we didn't get to do it.
I did museum delivery for my C8 in Oct ‘22. Since it was my first ever new corvette, I wanted the whole experience. It was $1000 when I did it and you got a free pass to Ron Fellows driving school in Vegas, which offset the cost. You also get a free membership to the museum for a year I believe. It was an awesome experience and I am glad I did it. Would I do it again, 50/50.
$1,495!!! I thought $495 was high when I got mine oh so many years ago.
One nice feature I had heard was that, during their experienced PDI, the museum had the ability to drive your car back over to the plant if they noticed something that needed to be corrected.
