Default My first Corvette!!!

Hey all, yesterday was a very special day for me... I took home my very first corvette!
it's a 2012 grand sport convertible, 6 speed Manual, 44,000 miles.

white with black top, black wheels, red hashmarks. Red interior. 2LT, F55 suspension.
seems to be stock except a muffler delete. Sounds wonderful.

I worked my tail off to get one of these, and it looks like it'll be well worth it! I am absolutely blown away with this car. I've wanted one for so long and have put countless hours towards both affording one and finding one.
One thing - these cars are LOW!!! i figured that out very, very fast. Perhaps a previous owner lowered it. I've read that they can be raised some. An inch, heck even half an inch higher would make me much more comfortable considering the roads we have around here...

Here she is - can't beleive my eyes everytime I step out of the house!!

Congrats! Welcome to the club. I have a 2012 Grand Sport convertible as well, so I totally know where you’re coming from.
They’re an absolute joy!
With the black rims and the way you took the pictures, it’s a little hard to tell, but it doesn’t look like the car has been lowered from stock.
Those things are really low even from the factory, your *** only inches off the ground. You’ll learn how to approach things at an angle.
Believe me.

Welcome to the GS club, I'm also new to the C6 and have a have a 2012 GS 3LT convertible in Cyber Gray w/ 6SP manual. You are correct they do set low to the ground stock so what you are experiencing is normal, mine scraps a little going out of the driveway but not coming into the driveway (weird). The black plastic air dam is only a couple inches off the ground, haven't tried to go near a speed bump yet. No issue so far with scraping running around town on normal roads.

Very nice! Welcome to the Grand Sport convertible club!

I also thought mine was lowered a bit by the previous owner because the air dam seems to scrape more than on my previous C6 Corvettes, but I had the bolts checked by my mechanic twice just to be certain. Mine also has the magnetic ride control just like my 2010 ZR1 did. Mine looks lower because I installed the front and side splitters. I have to be VERY careful on my driveway. I already destroyed a cheap front splitter on it (brittle fiberglass), so the second time around I went full carbon fiber from APR which is much more durable.

Congratulations on your first Corvette. And welcome to the club.

You picked the best color, LOL.

But I'm a little bit biased.

Welcome and what a totally sharp looking GS you got for yourself. I included your quote because that is the way I feel every time that I set foot in our garage. Well bought. Enjoy it to the max and let the fun begin.

Default 2009 Corvette Coupe

Hi, also my 1st Corvette, 2009 Corvette Coupe, 1 Owner 24K miles, no damage history, came from Manassas VA area, had it delivered on a trailer.
Have been going over it, found no issues.

The Cover Craft will do until I get the Corvette into the garage...

Congrats! I bought my first vette, 2011 GS 6MT less than a year ago and quickly learned that scraping everything is just vette life. Luckily what is scraping is just a rubbery air dam that flexs out of the way and doesn't take too much damage. All the critical stuff is well out of the way and should be fine. Enjoy the car, I've been really impressed with mine.

Default My car is lowered, compare with yours

Lowered 1" all around.....I have to be VERY careful with speed bumps, intersections with drainage "dips" and goin in and out of parking lots.

Mine looks very similar to yours, maybe just a tiny tiny bit higher. Will measure later today
