I previously owned C3's. I now have more time for my passion and wanted something more comfortable (also with A/C) and reliable for the more frequent and longer trips I am making.
Sadly, I am a member of the "garage space challenged" crowd. Among the various reasons I chose a C6 over either a C5 or a C7 (C8 was out of the question because of the automatic) was it's size; a C6 is smaller than both. I first bought a base C6 but soon realized I wanted a "wide body". In this configuration, The C6 is almost 2 inches narrower than the C7 and a little more than 2 inches shorter. Decision made!
Of course there were a number of subjective reasons for choosing the C6, but it is very difficult to create additional garage space.
The shorter over-all length of the C6 over a C5 was of influence in our decision, be it a small one. We got the wide body GS. I wondered if it too would have a negative impact, but it has been negligable in our particular garage situation. In conclusion, our GS fits good. A Smart Car would surely provide piles more garage space, but.......
I think the inside of the C6 SEEMS to be larger than the C7. Maybe it's just the layout but I don't feel cramped in it. IMHO my C6 2012 base is probably the best car I have ever had. And I have had a lot of what are considered CLASSICS over the years. It checks off all the boxes, style, comfort, speed, handling and in Crystal Red Metallic, it has the WOW factor. And my wife likkes it too.

Okay....so what did you end up getting? What model, year, color? etc.
For me, the C6 is perfectly styled - similar to the C5 but I especially prefer the C6 front and rear styling. It has the LS3 engine and the 6-speed is very smooth. It is modern enough with useful technology without the feeling it’s taking over. And, I think my 09 Crystal Red coupe is just beautiful from every angle.
