Heat extraction may work at idle or low speeds, but the base of the windshield is a high pressure area and will not extract at high speed. The reverse actually.
Thats why the real WC type race hoods, like Anderson or LG all have vents further up...right behind the radiator.
If this is just for looks, or the show'n'shine, that's another story...but functionally its a negative
Bump.. anyone else have insight? Maybe pictures of one installed on the car?
how does it fit?
Late to this thread but the guys at J&D Corvette were able to install the Amerihood when adding widebody quarterpanels and didn't mention any problems. I did notice a hood latch catch was randomly installed backwards after first picking up the hood from the Amerihood warehouse.

i think it looks great how long was the wait??? any more pics???
I recommend this style hood by Lingerfelt. It's an old design, Sales picture My ride C6 Z06
but for me it's perfect. The Black Z06 is mine, and the other is a pic from sales information.
I happen to like the original c6 hood: smooth and sleek IMO. If I 'had' to replace it with something else, I'd be inclined to go with the Lingenfelder hood. The other one, unless you have something very large on the top of the engine looks pretty clunky to me, but that's my opinion.
Ultimately, it's your car so do what makes you happy.

They had it ready for will call pickup in 3 days, and J&D was about 3 weeks for the install and paint. And thanks I haven't really had a chance to take any other pics yet these were from the same day picked up.
My first choice for an aftermarket hood was a scoop type similar to the Lingenfelter but I was also open to a cowl style. The Amerihood cowl hood price was too competitive and then on the site DrivenByStyle has it even lower around $560 that I decided to take the gamble.
Needs some help. Get the cheese grater, soften all the hard lines, make a gradual transition in elevation front to rear, extend elevated rear lip closer to windshield.
