Finally wrote my review, thought I'd post here as well to inform the members of my experience.
After finally narrowing down our checklist, my wife and I decided to purchase a 2011 c6 GS from Corvette World in Dallas. Online, the car was very well presented and described. Pre-purchase, Robert S. was very communicative and answered any questions regarding the vehicle in general. There were times I sent a query email and had a response within the hour. After a disappointing trip to a closer dealer, we decided to make a nearly 6 hour drive to see our pick in person. Upon arriving we met with Robert and others in the shop. All the Corvettes on the showroom were spotless and well presented. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and accommodating.
The car itself was everything it was advertised as. Admittedly it was in better condition than I expected. There was a small car show at the location that day but Robert balanced his time between heading the show and helping us with our prospective purchase. He was great during the test drive experience and took time to answer any questions we had about the car. You could really tell he enjoys these cars and is an enthusiast, not just a “salesman”.
We completed the financing with Marty H. and he was a gentleman as well. He explained our options and made us feel comfortable with our purchase. It was a laid back, no BS experience - a refreshing change from some of the big city dealers.
Once the papers were signed, Robert even announced to the car show participants and spectators that we had just purchased our first Corvette. It was kind of embarrassing but all in fun.
So, any dealer can kiss your butt when making a sale, right? What about after the sale?
We purchased the car with no extended warranty. I am a fairly decent youtube mechanic and was willing to take the risk. Upon driving the car home, the very next day, the DIC threw a “service active handling” warning. After hours online and help from the members of corvetteforum.com , the problem was a seized steering column bearing that pushes the steering position sensor out of its home when the telescoping function is used. The fix involves pulling the entire steering column out of the car, something I didn’t really want to delve into on the second day of ownership. I had immediate regret of this purchase. After some deliberation I communicated the issue with Robert and he referred me to Marty. Keep in mind, I purchased NO warranty.
Marty proposed the following offer:
1. Bring the car to the Dallas location
2. CW will repair in house with their techs and split the repair cost
3. CW will ship the car back on an enclosed trailer on their dime.
This seemed like a very fair deal to me, especially since a local Chevrolet dealer I had contacted expressed no interest in even looking at my problem. We delivered the car to Dallas, it was repaired in a few days and barring a few days of storms the car was delivered to my home on an enclosed trailer in reasonable time. No more warning lights.
IMO they could have told me to pound sand when I called with an issue after the purchase. The fact that they wanted to work towards a solution tells you a lot about the guys. When it comes time to trade up, Corvette World will be our dealer of choice. I just thought I’d share a positive experience instead of the usual horror stories.

Whitepony04, so which Corvette did you buy from Corvette World? Was it a 2013 Grand Sport convertible in Night Race Blue with tan interior & top, and under 18,000 miles?
Wow. Great to hear that there are still some dealers who go the extra mile. Far too often all we see and read are the negatives, so nice to see some positives!

I hope that means they're turning things around. I bought my 2008 Z06 back in 2008 from what was then called Corvettes of Houston (before it became Corvette World), and it was a great experience. But then fast forward a decade, and all I hear are horror stories about both sales and service from people who worked there. It used to be my go-to place for accessories and swag. I suppose I'll need to give them a second look.
From Corvettes of Houston I purchased my 1989 6-speed FX-3 coupe in 1990, the car was still under the factory warranty. Pre sale and sale went picture perfect and the contract had a couple provisions of a couple items that were to be swapped out or added. COH did not provide after repeated attempts to get what was in the contract. Sue them? Yeah, get in line! The last demand letter I sent them, I said I would send a copy of the demand letters to every corvette club in Texas and surrounding states.
They were on my phone within a couple hours after receiving my certified letter.
Have not been back there since...yeah, I have a memory like an elephant.
We had a Corvette World in Austin, Tx but it closed down a few years ago. Had to buy my first Corvette out of the Houston area. Small dealership but decent experience. On my 3rd now.
