Default Can't replace steering wheel!!??

I have a '12 GS and ordered an aftermarket steering wheel. It came yesterday and felt and looked great. After taking mine off and examining it, it became obvious that the replacement would
not work. Contacted the company and they told me I have a limited edition wheel that they don't make a replacement for. The problem is that the 2 pieces on the sides that hold cruise, radio buttons etc.
are mounted on part of the wheel on mine, not a separate plastic part. Do I have any options? All replacements i've seen say they fit all c6 vettes, so i know they won't fit mine. Thanks

GM changed the steering wheel on the 2012s and 2013s. There were three distinct steering wheels on the C6 ... 2005 had a four-spoke design with a unique airbag module; 2006-2011 had a three spoke design with a new airbag module; 2012-2013 had a different three-spoke design (but used the same airbag module). The place you bought it from should have known that. You can pickup an older wheel at one of the Corvette recyclers or eBay, etc. and use parts off it for your new wheel, then sell your late-model wheel here on the Forum (they are quite popular as upgrades). Also be aware that the trim for manual transmission cars are different than automatic cars. (and the entire wheel is different in 2012-2013) and also differ depending if you had handsfree (Bluetooth/on-star). You probably should have done a little more research before ordering since it has been well covered on this Forum and lots of other places.

the one thing that is different on 2006 is there were no control buttons but the wheel is the same as 2007-2011.

Check out RFE Deaign. He has specific categories for what was described.

The only other thing you can do is buy a 2011 style wheel and use those parts to swap to the new wheel and keep your OEM wheel complete. I bought a complete wheel for $125

If you look at eBay ads, almost all listings will say 2006-2013 steering wheel which is wrong...bugs the crap out of me because 12-13 steering wheels are different. A few select sellers will point out that their wheel will not work on 12-13 cars.

Here is a picture from an eBay seller that tells you it won't work on your car (even though it's wrong because he stated 2010-2013, and also I side-by-side image I made showing the differences.

The pre-'12 wheels will work on 12-13 cars, you just lose the chrome trim around the buttons. You can swap all the parts between the wheels.
