Yes I am referring to the auto pull down. So I guess if your 2011 does not have it, then an 07 probably did not have it either. I have seen some C6 Coupes that the hatch has it. Just trying to figure out if mine is broken.
Thank you, I was kind of wondering the same thing on my 2011 convertible. I didn't see anything that looked like it would be an auto-close mechanism so figured it was manual.
C6 Convertible trunks do not have the soft-pulldown feature found on the coupe. Just push it closed, that's all you get.

Thank you so much for this very helpful information. This is exactly what I was needing to know. Now if I can just fix the pop up opening problem that I am having I will be all set. The lid does not open enough to clear the latch and get your fingers under it. I think others have had the same problem. I think that new struts will fix it even though they hold the lid up now with no problems.

I replaced struts and that did not work. They sell a spring like a helper spring which I bought but did not installl it yet .
Mine was doing that a month ago. Would barely pop using the inside button. I just used the fob button and it would eventually pop up enough to open. I cleaned the latch assembly and then shot a bit of WD40. Then a little bit of grease. I manually worked the latch a few times. This fixed my problem.

Ok I am back to square one with this trunk opening issue. I decided that I do not want to use the assist spring and would like for it to work correctly the way that it is supposed to. I have cleaned and lubricated the latch assembly and have lubricated the actual trunk hinge assemblies and it is still not working no matter what manner I try to use to open it. Can anyone please tell me exactly what should cause the trunk to pop open enough to open it on a convertible. I will continue to try and work the latch assembly.
I was just fooling with my trunk to install a rear camera and had to loosen the carpet to get the wiring through. Maybe make sure the carpet is nice and snug against the back wall of the trunk and isn't impinging in any way around the latch area? I almost couldn't get back in because I didn't have the carpet replaced yet and it interfered with the latch. Long shot, but maybe just be sure the carpet isn't somehow bunching up in the latch area.

Yes that is a good point. I will check on that. Thanks

What I found out is that by adjusting the male part of the latch that is screwed onto the trunk lid itself did make somewhat of a difference. Before you could hear the latch release but the lid would not raise enough to get a a finger under it to lift it and if you tried to slide something under the lid to raise it, it would still be latched. Now after adjusting the male latch on the lid it will release and pop up just enough to get a finger under it and raise it. It took several adjustment tries to get it to that point but once it was working it has continued to work so for now I am going to live with it that way. It is usable. The problem is not in the catch assembly mounted inside the trunk. GM should have designed something much better than this for releasing the trunk without having to rely on an adjustment that has to be exact in order to just barely get it to work.
My understanding on the way it is SUPPOSED to work is that the gas charged trunk lid struts would pop the lid up an inch or two. You might replace yours to see if that would resolve your problem.

That's what mine does. It pops up maybe an inch, inch and half. Enough to get my fingers in there to lift it up anyway. The struts are still strong enough to hold the trunk lid up at that point.
My struts still hold the trunk lid up very well but they do not pop up the lid enough to get my fingers in there to lift it. The adjustment that I made to the male part of the latch attached to the lid itself did help a little. Enough to be able to open it.
