Default Maximize tire size

Hey everybody, I need help buying tires. Got a set of ccw 19x10s and 19x12s. The car has 305 tires now. The tire shops really could not help me. I was looking to put wider tires for better traction as well as to fill out the z06 wheel wells. I was digging and some say a 325/30/19 might be good. Does anyone have a 345/30/19, not sure if that’s too wide. Any replies is appreciated, thanks all.

325’a are stock size widebody tires. 345’s are a common upgrade.

First, what tire shop couldn't figure it out? If they can't figure it out, I wouldn't want them to touch my car.

Lots of people on here run 345's on the rear. I ran them for several years. But with your front wheel being a 19" also, I'm not sure what tire size to run on the front.

People that have the 19"f/20"r set up go with 285/30/19 on the front, and 335/25/20"

Thanks pm thanks jbc for the replies.
Ok great, was not sure if 345 were too wide at over 13 in.

Well the two tire shops tried to help. But I am in GA currently they do not see a lot of corvettes. All they could do is tell me for your current wheel size. We can try this size and this size.
They would have to mount tires to get what I was wanting.

Lowered the car so looking to have the tires go to the wheel well edge.
Currently the front 19x10 have 265/30/19
the rear 19x12 have 305/30/19

thank you both again for the replies, appreciate it

Can you post a full image of your car and what type of wheel?

If they are aftermarket wheels, I wonder what the back spacing is?

I have 325/30/19 rears and wish I got 345. Only reason is the gap in the rears are annoying me. I think 345 would have filled the gap better.

If you’re on coils already 325 should be no problem.

what gap are you referring to? Width doesn’t change wheel well gap.

It does though, a 345/30/19 is a 27 inch tall tire, a 325/30/19 is a 26 inch tall tire. Width absolutely effects height.

thanks for the replies, really appreciated.
no not on coil overs , just lowering bolts, it is definitely lowered.
I was worried about my driveway dip into the street or running over bumps.
Was not sure about hitting the wheel wells.
I think I’ll go with 345 in the rear then, now just have to figure out the front 😂

thanks again guys for all the input and replies.

Flashback: 2013. I actually found the thread where I sold my Invos after putting on the Michelins. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ston-area.html

11 years ago. Crazy how time flies. Seems like yesterday.

Sizes were:
Fronts: 275-35-18
Rears: 345-30-19

Looks like this refers to wide bodies. What is the max size for a standard body for the rear that works without fitment issues? Stock wheels.

FWIW, I just did a new wheel & tire purchase with the idea of having nice big sticky tires on both ends for better dry weather performance without any rubbing or ABS/active handling drama. I ended up with the following:

Wheels: Forgestar CF-10, 19 x 10 front, 19 x 12 rear, with bit less offset than stock f&r for a more flush look.
Tires: Toyo R888R, 295-30-19 front, 345-30-19 rear. This maintains the stock F to R difference of approx. 1" or so.
Performance Street alignment with a reasonable amt of camber F&R, lots of caster, and a bit of toe in F & R.
The car was then set to stock ride height w/ new bolts and corner balanced.

I'm really pleased with this setup. The car handles great - crisp turn in, nicely balanced mid corner, tail happy if I want on the way out. No rubbing, and no trouble from the traction control/ ABS/stability control. And I like the new stance too.

Hope this helps, let us know what you end up with and how it works out.

I have the exact same wheels with 275F/325R….

345 definitely fills in and looks better.

2012 GS Here
Previous Owner has:
Front 265 40 18
Rear 305 35 19

For Rears think I'm going with 345/30-19 and 285/35-18 for the fronts.
Seems trying to find matching Tire Brand Style in those sizes is a challenge thou the brief time I spent looking. I would like to get Mich Pilot Super Sports Front and back but seems tough to do.
Summit has the rears and TireRack the Front. Would like a one stop shop. LOL

Looking for thoughts? Thanks Guys

OK, here's some thought on tires:

The stock sizes for GS and Z06 w/ 18s & 19s is 275-35-18 front and 325-30-19 rear. (Who knows what the previous owner was thinking?) Those sizes fit with no rubbing and the car performs very well. There are lots of choices of different tires in those sizes so why not stick w/ stock sizes?

Because everybody loves big fat tires!

Several other size combinations will work, like 285-35-18 front and 335-30-19 rear for example. And lots of guys run 345s with an appropriately sized tire on the front with no ABS trouble. just make sure that the % difference between front & rear diameter is very close to stock. The tire calculator is your friend here.

If your local chain tire store is clueless, and most are, check out Discount Tire and Tire Rack. (same company btw)
