Could that be the culprit?
I got everything hooked up and all my lights came on, door chime, etc. I noticed when the power came on, my car put itself in accessory mode. (yellow light) and my AC was on. I never run the AC in that car. I’ve only had it a few months and it’s only now summer. I also noticed that the car was acting like I was in it and it was running. It was showing messages on the dash that one would only see after the car is running.… the welcome screen, Headlights suggested, etc.
I hit the ignition button to take it out of accessory mode, and then I tried starting the car and all the lights went off inside, and there was nothing.
The lights would come back on after about five seconds. Each time I tried this I got the same results. Everything else was functioning or illuminated as it should be. battery connection was fine. Nothing loose.
So after a few tries, I almost decided to give up, and then it occurred to me that some people have had issues with their window valet, so I hopped back in the car and pulled it out.
I thought “what the hell let’s try it again“. The thing I noticed different this time is that I was able to hit the ignition button and get the red light this time. I did not get a red light before. It was either the yellow light (ACC) or the green ignition circle illuminated. So, I held my breath after getting the red light and pushed the button again. Success!
Has anybody else had an issue with their window valet changing out the battery? I know the computers in these things are very temperamental. That’s why I decided to go ahead and just get a new battery with the alternator. I’m wondering if having the window valet connected while the car was re-powering up itself caused it to go haywire.
EDIT; I had to pull the battery again because I forgot to put in the little breather piece and I couldn’t get the cap for it off with the battery in the car.

Didn’t have the same problem second time around with the window valet still removed. Thinking maybe that was it.

Would'v suggested after disconnecting WV, reconnect rebooting both car & device.
Apparently something about connecting w/o disconnecting WV sent car into never never land.
Glad all's well.

Good luck...GD
