Modified C6 flags on my right calf. I drew this up and the tattoo artist transferred it to whatever outline process they use. It's faded quite a bit since I got it about 15 years ago before I actually bought my 2011 Grand Sport. I thought I was being clever doing the American flag to replace the regular design on the right side. Then a few years later I saw a damn overlay sticker with the same design at Carlisle. Guess I wasn't as clever as I thought....
I have 2. When I got my first one in 1971. My brother and I got the same one in the same place, left upper arm. I was the only guy on campus with a tat. Over the years all 3 of my kids got ink. Some nice, some a good reason not to be drunk when you get a tattoo. Middle son got MOM on his shoulder. I told him that's great, it also says WOW when you are standing on your head. I got my second one 2 years ago at age of 70. Both of these have stories that reflect things in my life. The second done I had wanted for a long time ( actually since I got the first one) but never got around to it until I retired. But what I find most fascinating is when you are someplace and someone you are interacting with has a tat, and you ask them the story behind it, they can usually go on forever about it's meaning to them. TO me, it is inspirational that people put so much thought into them. One young lady we met on a road trip had a mess of stuff on her forearm. I asked what it represented and she said that was what her life was before, then she turned her arm over, started to get all choked up, and showed us a beautiful long stemmed rose surrounded by butterflies on the inside of her arm. That was her life after...she moved in with her grandmother and she helped straighten out her life. The point is that ink isn't for everyone, but if you want to do it, maybe a Corvette symbol or something else that is a major part of your life, go for it. As Mr Kite 167 just said, life is short. It doesn't hurt....much.
Have you ever seen the original 53 crossed flags with the American flag on the one side. It is basically the 53 styled crossed flags with a checkered flag on the right and the American flag on the left.
