Default Air filter question C6 base

I have a 2008 C6 base. I'm the 2nd owner. It has 32,000 miles. I bought it 6 years ago and have put about 8,000 miles on it. The original owner had installed a Halltech CAI (1st generation killer Bee). I want to install a new air filter. When I removed the current filter it looked somewhat like a K & N (wire mesh, etc). It doesn't say any name brand on it anywhere. When I checked Halltech's website they show 4 different choices for filters.

S & B red oiled

S & B blue oiled

S & B dry

TKO Attach blue Nano

I'm thinking mine must be the S & B red oiled filter.

I guess I could order Halltech's clean and oil kit and do it myself or order a new S & B red oil filter (I think it comes pre-oiled). That way I know it has the proper amount of oil.

I'm not really a fan of oiled filters and would prefer a dry filter.

The car does have a slight tune so I'm not sure if changing to a dry filter could cause any codes (lean / rich, etc.). I'm not worried about power (it has enough for me). Just want a clean / new filter and move on.

Suggestions / recommendation appreciated.

Mark

Jim,

Wouldn't I also need the $25 reducer since my series 1 has the 4" diameter opening and the current filters are 4.5"?

Thanks,

Mark
