After researching the multiple forum posts here, the recommendation was to clean the 2 grounds under the battery (G104, G106). I did that along with the other two that I could find in the engine bay and I haven't had an issue since. Here's what they looked like
Why is it even that bad?!?!?!!!?
Anyway, hopefully this helps someone in the future.
Why is it even that bad? Why is it even that good? That’s a 15 year old connection sitting under a flooded cell battery. One of the gasses that can be produced during charging is hydrogen sulphide which is pretty corrosive, so trace amounts of that over 15 years could explain it. Maybe a PO tried to add water to the cells and overfilled one a bit, so some battery acid leaked down there and they didn’t clean it up properly.
