Default Ameritech hood

Anyone have experience with these Chinese made hood it seems it’s the latest thing for everything from car parts, the boat parts coming from China. They add the prefix Amira to it. It’s a hand laid up fiberglass pipe, not pressed Fiberglass. I was wondering about fitment adorability if anybody has purchased one of these hoods

There are a significant amount of hoods made within the US that do not have questionable quality. I'd likely go that route.

A similar hood made here is 3x the price plus tax and shipping btw, sadly, all AC/Delco OEM parts are made in Asia, read the box I hate China just as much as the next guy but sometimes you get tired of major corvette suppliers humming it up your shorts

I'm not saying it simply because its "made in china" I'm saying it because a lot of those knock off or lesser known aftermarket companies don't have great quality control, that's part of how they're able to produce them cheaper. One guy may get a hood that fits fantastic, and then literally the next guy may have one that doesn't fit right at all. Now you're paying a body shop to take care of it and that cost combined with the hood cost may be as much as if you got a reputable one in the first place. I have no problem with some products made in chine, hell pretty much everything is, but precisely measured/molded items are something, I personally, would rather not skimp on.

And nobody wants to think about this either (myself included), but what would the customer service be like if it makes it all the way from China to you and is damaged? Another thing to think about.

I don't see that one, but i do see the one that's similar by ACI for 1300 bucks, and ACI is out of Ohio (I use their front fenders) I order from Zip all the time, they're right down the street from me. SKU F-613
