Default Headlight/front bumper misalignment

Hello, I recently purchased a 2008 corvette and just happened to notice that the bumper doesn’t finish flush with the front of the passengerheadlight. The car hasn’t been in any accidents that I know of. Thinking it’s a broken clip or something to that extent. Thank you!

Funny my right headlight is the same way, been wondering how to fix it… I thought it was just because I had an aftermarket Z06 style bumper.

after getting under the car and removing the fender liner i found that it has definitely been messed with before. Definitely appears to have hit something at some point. The radiator support has shims under it which isn’t a good sign

Geeze man hopefully it’s just the support itself which isn’t too expensive to replace.

It is quite possible that the previous owner had aftermarket lights in the car and removed them prior to sale and returned the OEM lights. These lights are mounted using three bolts which have some adjustability for aligning the headlight. It is possible that these lights were quickly thrown back into the car and not aligned properly. This should be a simple fix.

Based on your other findings, I would still say that this is just a misalignment of the headlight and all it needs is an adjustment.

When I bought my '11 GS a couple years ago, the lights were all fogged over so I had Carmax buy me Morimotos. They were happy because they saved $1000 over OEM lights and I get LED lights.
I have noticed my left is not flush, although not as much as yours. When the shop installed them they were way off aligned, so I went through Morimoto's instructions and did the alignment myself. Noticed the non-flush situation a bit later. I may crawl under there and "re-install" the lights myself and see if I'm happier with the fit. I don't believe the car was ever hit... although I did hit a deer a couple months later.
Damned deer! Broke my new ZR1 splitter. You can see the fit a little here:

I was looking at mine and it seems like the bumper is sagging down, i can actually lift it up about a half inch and it looks flush! This aftermarket fiberglass z06 bumper was on the car when I got it…
