Replacing struts
I have a 2008 manual top convertible . The struts that hold the hard cover that hides the top are shot. Is there an easy way to replacing them or
should I take the car to a dealer? thanks for the help.

Quite an easy DIY job....probably 15 minutes with a flat blade screwdriver.

- Open the folding top stowage compartment.
- Remove the forward end of the strut from the hinge ball stud.
- Close the folding top stowage compartment lid.
- Open the rear stowage compartment lid.
- Remove the strut from the rear ball stud
- Install is reverse steps.

As per china, many of the oem ACDelco replacement parts I've bought in the last few years were marked either china or mexico. Are they any better or worse than no name brand parts at 1/2 the price??
I've bought hood and trunk struts off Amazon based on buyers reviews, not brand name. They work fine.
Sucks that so many American companies now sell rebranded china stuff for American branded prices.
