The prior owner tinted the windshield and that helped with glare but I couldn’t see at night so that was a no go. I thought the headlights had issues, it was so bad driving at night especially in the rain.
I tried all kinds of different treatments nothing really worked. I ended up buying a dash mat and had it trimmed up at the glove compartment area as I did not like it covering that area.
That is the best idea, covering where the glare is. I don’t know how much a dash mat costs, then you have to cut it up. Maybe go to an upholstery shop tell them the issue and maybe they can make a mat with some anti skid material on the back so it won’t slide off. We used to do that for years in our marine canvas shop for large boats and yachts. Amazing how some engineer would design a fiberglass dash console that was all glossy to start with and then when the sun hit it you couldn’t see the front of the boat. And some were million dollar boats! Unless you are pickey about fabrics it shouldn’t cost much.
I think I paid 80.00 for it I bought the suede one. I took it to a Taylor Shop showed her where to cut and hem it back.
I think what causes our glare is the slope of windshield. I used to use a black colored toilet rug that I cut to fit the driver area. I used that as it had like a rubber backing.
I keep a pair of these polarized glasses in the Corvette. It eliminates the glare for me.
I also use 303 Protectant, but it does nothing to cut the glare.
