I need to put my car (2005 Z51) outside the garage for a few months while I work on an engine for my truck. I see there are several car covers available for my 2005 car. Are there any out there that stand above others? Are there some that should be avoided like a covid case in 2020? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I bought mine from the Chevrolet dealer in 2008 and couldn't be happier with it. It has the corvette logo on the cover and the case. I used it from spring to fall in 2008-2010 at work. Hot sun beat the heck out of it. Very little fading. I still use it from time to time if the car has to be out while I'm working in the garage. The trick is to keep your car very clean when using a cover.
Coverking is top of the line but $300 for the Silverguard might be steep for temporary use. If you don't care for an exact custom fit one, you can find great deals on Amazon if you can find one close to same length and width as a C6.
Covercraft and California Car cover offer a few to pick from. I've used them both for our motorcycles the Vette and the 66 Satellite, ours are indoors but covered anyway.
