Default Something running with engine off

Wondering what might be running with engine off? Upon opening the door on my 2007 I can hear something continuously running in the dash area. I thought it might be the fan but thought it was off. Is this normal? Thanks for your thoughts. Haven’t had this car too long so still sorting it out.

I know when I turn my C6 off there is some clicking sound behind the dash. I figured it was some servo or something setting itself into the off position. However, it is only a couple of seconds and not continuous.

Is this after sitting for a long time or just after a recent shut down? Is it a steady sound or cycling/varying?

Sounds like your option is turned on that blows air over the evaporator to prevent mold

Default Option fan

That’s what is sounds like. Do you know what that option is called? If that’s what it is it’s a good thing, cause here in Washington state the Pacific Northwest where it’s one of the wettest places in the US. I’m 35 miles from the rain forest. Thanks for your input,

its called "afterblow". i forgot i turned on the feature and while at taylor shellfish farms in WA (on chuckanut drive between mt vernon and belligham) i heard the interior fan come on. At first i thought something was shorted as my ignition was off and key fob was removed from the car. Sort of like the evap system does its testing after shut down... https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-a-c-odor.html

Default Airblow

Thanks Don. The item runs all the time. I notice it after first opening the door when all is quiet. I still have a C5. This car is a whole new electrical experience!
