Default Probably the Battery

My 2011 Grand Sport is garaged and kept on a Battery Tender. Lately (but not always) and after sitting for a day or two, when I push the hatch button above the license plate (to disconnect the Battery Tender) it doesn't work nor do the doors open. I have to push the button on my fob, which opens the hatch, then hatch and doors work as normal. The engine fires right up and everything works fine.

I'd like to know if anyone's had these kind of problems or it's just the goofy things that happen when the battery's getting old (even though the gauge shows normal). By the way the battery just turned 6 years old (yeh, yeh, I know),

Thanks as always for getting info from the Corvette Forum brain trust.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts. Hesitated about taking up space for such a basic question...I'll chalk it up to more goofy things that happen when the battery's old.

I replace my battery every 36-42 months and even if they are fine, I am more confident in the car.

Just like everyone thought....the battery was the culprit! Should have known. Had an interesting experience getting a new battery though. Went to Costco who had the best price, but they didn't have the correct one in stock. Said they haven't stocked it for a long time, and that Interstate (the vendor) only sent them what they wanted them to sell. I assumed that was the more popular ones. Two of their other stores (30 miles away) had 3 each in stock so I said just send one to my store and I'd pick it up. No dice. They don't send items to each other. Decided to go to Walmart just down the road ten minutes away from my house. They were a little more expensive but had 7 in stock. Guess they're more popular batteries with the Walmart crowd than the Costco crowd.

Thanks for the input, guys. Next time I'll as a more intelligent question!
