Still a rookie car enthusiast, please forgive any sins I commit(ed).
My third brake light went out and I was hoping I could just order a replacement and put them on. But I can't find an exact replacement for them anywhere since they're not stock, one of the previous owners changed them. They're wider than the stock version. I found some old posts that were talking about this "39 LED third brake light"but without any luck to find a replacement. Just wanted to post here for a Christmas miracle and see if there is possibly some new place that sells them. In a tough spot these days, trying to avoid buying a whole spoiler assembly just to change the brake light.
The problem he has (if you look at his photos) is that it looks like he maybe has a custom made spoiler and third brake light, the third brake light he has is longer than the stock one, or the one Vette Lights sells. The one he has is no longer being made.
I may get one of them, like the strobe option idea seeing I got rear ended at red light over summer enough to crack paint. But been rear ended up here twice before with other vehicles all of them with me stopped at red light. 😡😡

vette was re painted rear bumper
If you saw the video in my how to write up, it doesn’t strobe continuously when the brakes are applied, it only flashes like 4 or 5 times then goes solid until the brake is released, so I don’t know if that would of helped with the rear end accidents you’ve had in the past or not, but it wouldn’t hurt. Either way it still looks better than the stock one.
I will definitely check it out thank you for posting.
Update:
Yes looks pretty easy, maybe a little arm bending and some contortion bending with arms, think I'm going to buy and spring time install.
The Strobe function seems as you said just a eye catch/attention grabber, I have seen other vehicle on highway that do similar.

I can you say easy install, and you make it go steady, or flash 3 times and then go steady, great eye catcher for someone behind you, and bright.

Hard to tell from pictures but the housing that the light is in looks to be the same overall length. And I also assume (you know how that goes) that whomever installed it may have used original mounting holes (again if that is how they were originally attached) with my limited Corvette knowledge I have no idea how they were attached. If they have the tape, heat gun and carefully pull off, adhesive remover and but something there. I like the idea of the blinking one, if going to change something make it different and/or better? I HATED the factory "FOG" light and modified housings to install "driving lights in their place. How I did it and picture are on this site somewhere.

I haven't compared the housing/spoiler to OEM one so not sure if it is the same overall length and haven't taken it off to find out how they installed it.
Right now I'm planning on getting a stock spoiler (found one for $75 on the corvetterecycling website) and then the blinking light from Vette lights. I think having the light flash a couple of times is better for grabbing attention of other drivers, specially with how many distracted drivers are out there these days.
