Hi, everyone. I live in Vancouver Canada and was looking to convert all my remaining lights on my 2006 corvette base. I have already done the taillamps and side markers thru Morimoto, and would like to replace the headlamp bulbs with upgrades and the drl with switch backs, as well as the fog lamps and interior bulbs. Any recommendations on online suppliers that would ship to Canada? Please and thank you in advance.
There are all kinds of articles in here on "Auxiliary lighting" I even did one about converting C6 "fog" light assemblies to Holy crap "driving" lights. Before you start looking and reading here I suggest you go online and read the differences between Driving, fog, low bean, halogen's, Hid . led's, xenon, projector beam, and so on and so on ! You need to know hat YOU want. Which is not always the least expensive, and/or the most popular. How to change the parts YOU want to upgrade. To that on on line sites. Just going to a site like "headlight Revolution" and learning about the many way lights and bulbs can be rated is a good place to start. Good place to start here is a thread that was actually a poll - Headlight use poll. At least that's what I think it was titled.

When I was looking to replace the factory "fog" lights for "Driving" lights. Some said no and other said we have a much better fog light bulbs (most had a much better replacement bulb, but that keep them with a "fog" beam pattern. No one I could find had a "driving" light assembly. There is a huge difference in the two beam patterns. I made my own. Installed Morimoto 2banger light assemblies inside the OE fog housing. And as stated they are now "HOLY CRAP" better. Took a bit of doing, but happy I did. I guess the cost to design and manufacture a "driving" light assembly is more than most are interested on spending. What I did and how I did it is on this site somewhere with nighttime visual results. Are the better than changing the headlamp assemblies? But a $$$$ less money. I have no idea of better, same or? but it accomplished what I wanted. And most important it was OK'ED by the official owner "MY WIFE Rebecca". I changed the bulbs in the headlamp assemblies with "headlamp revolution" recommended bulbs also a fabulous change. Remember YOU need to be happy with what YOU do to Your Vehicle. Anything done is better than OE. Oe is adequate to meet DOT requirements.

The biggest challenge with driving lights in the fog light position on a corvette is balancing their usefulness while not blinding oncoming traffic. I had this issue with my 97 before i started working on headlight projects. I used the Hella micro DE Xenon system (purpose-built top-shelf HID driving lights) in place of the fog lights. The problem I encountered is because the fog lights are barely foot off the ground in the corvette, the beam pattern must be highly focused. Otherwise you get too much foreground glare (preventing you from being able to see as far as the light can project) or you start blinding oncoming traffic.
The challenge of finding a true "pencil beam" light source was addressed with the development of "hyperspot" LED lights or true laser spot lights. However even with these, the lights must be aimed at near 0 degrees elevation and even then the slightest change in road elevation can render them useless or wore blind oncoming traffic. The corvette as a low-profile sports car really doesn't benefit from "driving" lights in the same manner as larger vehicles that can make use of a higher mounting point and lower aiming while still getting further projection.
That being said, driving lights are a cheap way to get around poor-performing low beam headlights without producing the glare of high beams.
While I admire your creativity and ingenuity (yes I'd like to see your end product), there are more effective ways to improve nighttime lighting performance. Our Lux King true LED projector kit replaces your aging factory projectors (your Low beam reflector bowl is likely losing reflectivity due to age and scorching, and the high beam halogen reflector was sad from the factory) with dedicated high-performance LED projectors. They are incredibly easy to swap when you replace your headlight lenses (which on most C6 cars are needing replacement from years of road debris blasting away the UV protective coating resulting in lens fog).
