Default Front camera view

I put a front camera on my c6. I like having the ability to see before I hit something, lol. But my question. What view out the front do you guys have with your installation. I'm going to change/modify, etc mine to give me a slight view of the bumper edge. The current view projects out about 10". I'm use to it, so I know as I pull up, If I stop when it looks like Im touching, I still have a good amount of space. Just curious about what you guys have.

Well I ended up angling mine so the bottom edge of the bumper is just barely visible in the frame. It helps a ton when pulling up close to curbs or ramps. That way I’m not guessing if I’ve got 2 inches or a foot left

I just completed my front camera install (Natika off Amazon) and you had a choice of eliminating the red/yellow /green lines. I put a marker about 12 inches out from the tip of my bumper. This lined up with the red warning line on my camera so I chose to keep the warning lines.

Grab a box about the height of a curb stop, and set it in front of your bumper, and adjust your camera accordingly.

I don't use guide lines on my front camera. When the bottom edge is seen of the curb/parking block/object that I'm approaching, I have about a foot of clearance left. Big warning! is objects come up FAST when you're moving in - slow WAY down to avoid colliding with the object.
Hope it helps!

I made the mistake of placing the camera next to the skid plate under the bumper. That position is much too low. I will be relocating the camera in the grill area. Why relocate the camera? Last summer, I cracked my front splitter because I could not see the concrete parking thingy. So, I want a higher vantage point for the camera.

I do what norm07 described, but I powered my front camera from the brake light. I am always on the brake when pulling into my garage or a parking spot so the camera comes on the same way as when the rear camera comes on in reverse .

I installed a Boyo camera from Crutchfield as shown below. This gives the view of bottom edge of bumper, easy to see how close to anything.

Looks good! Did you use double sided tape or mount it with screws?

How did you run the wiring from the camera to the inside of the car, back to the radio?

I used double sided tape. It's been on about a year or more with no issues. I ran the cable up the passenger side along the wheel well and ran it along other cables already there. Then fished it through the large rubber seal/grommet that all the other wiring goes through behind the battery. It was pretty easy & blends right in. Mounted the same camera on the rear the same way. That cable comes through a grommet behind the right rear brake light, then under the rear carpet down to and under the center console to the radio.

Here is my setup. Ran the wires through the grommet that the rest of the wires run through i the firewall.

The problem I see with this, is that the camera would come on every time you’re on the brakes, such as stop signs/lights, slowing down etc. which I think would bother me.
