I’m considering purchase of ‘11 GS with std exhaust. I’d like to convert it to NPP and have been looking for ‘how to’ info regarding the vacuum hook up. Muffler install is straight forward but I’d need info on how to hook up the actuators and haven’t found any info. Seems like there has to be something out there. TIA.
Theres another way - tubing, vacuum switch, manual switch. I also purchase a small vacuum tank. The tank is so the valves don't open while going up hills in high gear.
While that package works, I did it myself for about $25-$30 worth of parts! Bought rubber tubing, found a vacuum switch on E-bay for a few bucks, need a "T" fitting for vacuum line right front of the motor, mounted the switch under the dash by right knee. Routed the tubing through the rocker, behind the right rear inner fender liner, used a "T" fitting above the axle and ran a short hose to each valve. Works great.
This kit is perfect! I purchased an NPP Cat-Back exhaust from one of my club members who owns a C6 Grand Sport. I took the car to a local muffler shop for the installation. After that, I got the NPP in a Box kit. I connected the vacuum line to a location at the front of the engine, next to the intake. I programmed one of the car's garage door openers, which is located on the driver's side sun visor, to control the NPP system's valves.
I’ve been using it for about three years with no issues. When my wife is in the car, I close the valves to keep it quiet. When I’m driving by myself, I open the valves. This also helps reduce drone noise during highway drives.
