Default Headlight ISSUE???

Have U.S. 05 base Convertible 60K
was not liking the headlights lenses
so bought a set off the forum
the set I bought are EURO that the previous owner had the left-right park bulb disconnected at the harness (is a small bulb that if you are parked on a corner at night it is turned on either left side or right to illuminate the vehicle a small 194 bulb there in front and rear on EURO cars)

The headlights have been on a 2010 U.S. Car previous owner said that the amber DRL were
functioning when removed

My Headlights were 100% functioning when I removed
the Euro plugs had either been swapped to the 5 pin harness because they plugged in seamlessly

Ran through the functions but didn’t notice the yellow DRL not on 😩

buttoned everything up

have since removed the 5757A DRL to double check that the previous owner might not have liked the DRL Amber on possible modifications to the bulb (frying the constant) which was not the case

Are the early 05 06 07 cars wired differently for the DRL’s ???

Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated 😂

I added 3 second video of the different functions
I did not add the 4 ways that are functional

I believe the 05 has a different ballast but everything else should be the same.

The C5 standard headlights should have 3 bulbs:
3157 signal
D1S Low beam
H9 high beam.

The 5-pin connector should be as:

A - ground
B - low beam 12v
C - high beam 12v
D - Signal/DRL 12v
E - Park lamp 12v

The euro version MAY have a 194 bulb as a "city light" where certain well-lit jurisdictions prohibit use of headlights are night for light pollution issues.

I have not seen the harness for the Euro headlights, but it should be pretty easy to trace the wires. DRL and Signal use the same circuit on Domestic cars. The DRL function is typically disabled by reprogramming of the BCM so there shouldn't be an wiring difference except for the addition of the city light circuit.

Thanks for the help !

I bought the Euro headlamps from a forum member who had them installed in his 2010 it was plug and play on my end with a 5pin male plugging into my 5 pin female harness on my car . The city lights were already clipped with plenty of length I actually have it accessible from the fender well access panel he says everything was working .

I actually pulled the DRL / Directional and it is a 5757A which I replaced with another 5757A just double checking the simple stuff I am going to check to see if the socket has 2 or 3 Leeds going to it

I have been liking the clean look 👀 but I will chase down the problem

possible change over my old headlights harnesses for the DRL’s to work

Never heard of a 5757A bulb. Try 3157

3757A but it had a 3757KA

I will put a 3157A in for a test 🤞 I pulled a 3157A from the old headlight but it was a little loose at the base from the in and out and I didn’t feel like having the base breaking in the socket , so I pulled what was in the Euro light although it was a 3757KA but the parts store had 3757A it as a sub

I will definitely address it over the weekend and update

BUT if anyone has any input I’m all ears

Basically I’m a dog dragging my heals for a bath ( I’m going to have to pull the lights probably to address problem)🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the suggestions and support 😂

Pulled from the Euro light at the DRL /Directional position

Replaced the 3757Ak with this but still no DRL?

Default Update

We are back in action with DRL’s 😂

You either love them or you don’t 🤷‍♂️

I don’t have any feelings about them I like it both ways . I just have to have things work as intended.

I back tracked the Job remembered that there was a dirty hole on the driver side at the harness that I had sprayed electrical cleaner get the (funk out) that’s the name of the cleaner
Which I cycled the lights but forgot the DRL’s during the inspection.
DRL’s 😂

A pin on my old headlights so I cleaned the dirty hole on the female side 😂
