C6 coolant issues

and that you get the check coolant level when temp fluctuates quickly up and down, meaning you have air in the coolant system, and the air is collecting around the sensor in the head.
So basic vacumm pump (brake bleeder pump will work fine),with cone shape stopper and hose to connect the two

so you can start the motor, remove the coolant reseiver cap, then put a vacuum on tank for a few mins with engine running, to purge the air bubbles from the coolant system
If the problem does comes back after a while, then either leaking line/fitting that is allowing air to get back in the system that way (look for a leak, since will get that first as coolant heats up, then air back in as it cools), or you have a blown head gasket or cracked cylinder sleeve that is allowing the motor to push air in to the coolant that way instead.
Note, only use 50/50 Dexcool for coolant, and on the front side of the tank about half way down behind the head light, will see the full line for the tank. Hence tank about halfway filled up, is the tank filled to the full line.
