Reaching out for some assistance in troubleshooting my passenger door issue. I just finished installing a new audio system in my 07 Z51, to include head unit, amp, speakers, sub and new wiring. Stock amp is gone and everything is independent of the old system (couldn’t have done this without the forum!).
Now my passenger door won’t open. I’ve removed and cleaned the touchpad contacts, checked all the fuses, and replaced the door actuator. Current symptoms:
Red light operates when attempting to open door, window and window works from both drivers and passenger door switch, power mirrors works, window index’s when attempting to open door from inside door switch and external touchpad, also noise heard at BCM when attempting to open door. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you change anything such as a door speaker or remove the passenger side door panel? If it was working before you installed the new audio system it’s most likely related to the install. I’m not a big believer in coincidence. The other place I’d check is the wiring that got changed, removed, etc while installing the new system.
I did remove the door panel to install the new speaker and run the speaker wire. But I didn’t tap into any existing wiring or harnesses. I’m with you on coincidences, but the only thing I can think is I may have accidentally damaged a wire in there. Not a fan of pulling the door panel repeatedly so I wondering what else I should check / replace while I’m in there.

I have an 06 and have taken the door panels off many times. I would pull that panel and try cycling the door with the panel off. My guess is that a wire got damaged during the speaker install. Start there and you’ll probably find the issue since everything else for the door is working properly. Closely inspect every wire that goes to and from the door opening mechanism. Perhaps it’s as simple as something is causing the mechanism to bind up? Let us know what you find....
You seem to be the type of guy that likes to fix stuff himself, so maybe now it's time to buy a scanner with bi-directional capability. Those type of scanners are fairly affordable now. With a bi-directional scanner, you could command the door to open. Then you would know if the problem is with something in the door or with the control.

I would be interested in that. Is there a make / model you recommend?
last year. I am satisfied with it, but am not really up on all of the scanners that are available these days, so there could well be a better value out there. Amazon's Prime days start 8 July, so there may be some good deals on scanners then. Maybe C5Diag has some suggestions.
Update. Removed the door panel, speaker, and weather proof access cover. Checked all wiring and harnesses. No binds at window regulator, all pins present in door panel disconnect and tested pass interior door switch on drivers side. Everything checks out. Hooked up door connector while panel off and nothing, window and mirror works as before. Im out of ideas. It seems the signal is being sent from the door to the BCM, but not from the BCM to the actuator to unlock the door.

I’d switch the door pad from drivers side to passenger side... simple to do and it would eliminate that there’s an issue with the door pad. I know you said you cleaned it but.... it’s a free check to switch the pad.
Update 2: Switched touchpad with driver door and no luck. Used a test probe to check passenger actuator harness (see attached); hooked up door panel and cycled interior and exterior door switches while probe connected to harness ground, testing other 4 wires. Discovered the blue and tan wires do NOT light up test probe while the green and tan/white wire does. DK Blue wire goes to RCDLR and Tan to BCM C3. Visually inspected wires with nothing observed. The one thing that had crossed my mind is that during my audio install I hooked up and disconnected the battery multiple times. Still no luck.
Any chance the pins in the connector are corroded or bent. Possibly pulled the pin from it's "seated" position. I have seen where zip ties pulled too tight will pull pin connectors from where they should be.
that exact thing happened to me.....it was a poor connection. I zip tied the plug connector and viola......solved the problem. Let us know what you find....
