C6 a6 ls3
Hello. Wondering if anyone can help me identify this problem. This is the scenario: it has to do with braking and reapplying on the gas pedal. So I’m driving on an intersection, there’s an upcoming red light so I start to brake. As I’m braking, the light turns green so I press on the gas. When I do, the car shifts aggressive to the point where the car jerks. Another example, i start to brake when im about to make a turn into a street, same thing happens, car jerks and shifts weird. Now this doesn’t happen all the time but when it does I just hate it. Doesn’t feel right. Car only has 45k miles. Another thing I want to add, car makes a whine noise, only in 1st gear. Car doesn’t throw any codes.

Also, what are your trans temps?
If you got a scanner, run it and see what the trans is doing and if there are any pending codes

Hi there,
Is your car modified. Does it have a pedal controller? Some people tune these cars and crank up the fluid pressure to the max and that can cause this kind of issue during regular driving. Unless you are the original owner, or completely know the cars' history, it could have had some things done that are causing this issue. Also the advice from Pettrix regarding the fluid change or check is the first thing I would do. You state the car has 45K miles, it may be the original fluid which is now 15 years old give or take. Maybe time for trans fluid and filter change, but sounds more like trans has been tuned to be on the aggressive side.
Really, find a straight that you can get on the car hard for a few shifts and video it at the tack, and post it, and we should be able to tell you if the trans has been tuned on how hard is shift up.
