So I was going to use it as a mix. I have a truck but its getting up there in miles 215k+. I was going to keep it mainly in a carport, that I have built yet, to protect it from a oak tree over hanging my driveway. But if I drive it to work 50% of the time it will spend alot of time outside as we dont have covered parking. So I guess 50/50 between either covered or not.
I would probably coat it in your case. A carport is basically going to be the equivalent of being outside, just with some protection from the sun and shade, and if you're gonna drive it a lot, it makes it a lot easier to live with day to day. Especially on the headlights, they'll get crazed and destroyed by UV pretty easily.
I have probably washed my car 2x in like 4 yrs. Literally all I do is waterless wash or spray detail it.
If it doesn’t sit outside and not driven a ton there really is no reason for things to not come off easily
You don’t need ceramic to achieve this. There are many great polymers out there for much cheaper and just build a higher layer of protection every time you use it.
Here is what my car looked like last week driven in the rain with no ceramic .
Not only did the car not melt, nor did I need to total it, but I literally just wiped off with a wrag and detailer the next day because my bumper was black from tires kicking up water and junk from the road.
Good as new!
I use Maguires flagship marine wax my car is atomic orange and gets raves and third turns heads everywhere it goes at a recent Cashel my cause a daily driver not a garage queen it’s parked outside the car cover most times how do we Sequoia show all the prima donnas with ceramic wax jobs asked me what I had done to my car I have to laugh has a city of taking pebble Saturday tire threads with Q-tips

This is the most nonsensical post I've seen here in a while

I would consider buying a consumer based ceramic/graphine coating. They last up to a year outside and can be refreshed with a coating detailer. I use 303 Graphine, which is a little more expensive than caranuba wax, but you don’t have to go through the labor of applying/wiping it off every three months (unless you like to). It also repels dirt well so your washes or spray detailing will be easier. I keep my GS in the garage covered, but I notice that I’m getting busier as I get older I don’t have the time or energy to wash and wax as much as I used to. But many of us are **** about keeping their cars clean and this is a good solution for me for all my cars including those that sit outside.
Are you going to daily driver it and park it outside, or are you going to baby it, put it in the garage, and spend more time washing it than driving it?
Ceramics are great for daily drivers. I do it on all my daily driver love outside cars. It's a waste on a garage queen, and it doesn't look as good as a nice carnauba wax job.
I recently found this out. I love waxing in the garage and heard the same thing as not getting that depth so no coating for me. My paint looks great being an 08. Would do it if it sat outside. Not a lot of people tell you that about CC vs a glaze/wax

I have an 08 AO. Every time I take it out I get compliments most have never seen AO. My camera sucks but the depth and shine on mine is brighter than my future AO is such a bad *** color
Nice - what ceramic do you use and how often do you apply it?
I bought the Adams cleaner, prep, ceramic kit at Carlisle about 10 years ago!
I put on the last of that initial purchase a couple weeks ago! A little goes a long way!
They have since improved the product with graphene.
You can read a review here https://carcarereviews.net/adams-gra...0aAixyEALw_wcB
I applied the initial purchase about every three years. It is my intention to stick with Adams and purchase the upgraded graphene kit at the Adams booth this year at Carlisle.
I'd suggest you simply do your own ceramic coating and save yourself several hundred dollars. Just clay bar the car, wash it, and coat it. It doesn't have to be that complicated. There are tons of good ceramic coatings out on the market that work just fine for under $30. Turtle Wax Hybrid solutions is even a spray-on that can be done in just a few minutes and gets great reviews by folks who have tested it, like Project Farm. There's really no need to pay a "professional" in my opinion.
Yea, this is a good review. I've used the Turtle Wax Hybrid solutions ($16), and I can confirm it lasts a long time. I've done 5 vehicles with it nearly a year ago, and they all still look great and bead water like crazy.
