Default Mighty Mouse Gen 6 Catch Can Install

Thought I’d share some pics of my Mighty Mouse Mild Gen 6 Catch Can install on my 2007 Vert.

Working with @David@MMS was amazing. He made sure I had everything I needed and answered all my questions.

The fitment was sensational, and the installation was a breeze.

I looked at several different options before I decided to go ahead with MM, and I’m extremely happy with the final outcome.

Looks great, thanks for sharing!

if you are interested, the logo portion on the very top lid is retained by an o-ring and can be clocked with a good grip

Thanks again David, will do. I have the custom tool for it, so it will be easy.

Nice pics and install ! What exactly are these catch cans for, what do they do ? I see a lot of C6 owners have these, trying to decide if should get one (the exact same one you have) ? I have a 2012 Grand Sport with a cammed LS3, if that matters. How much does this unit cost ?

Makes your engine run cleaner and more efficient by keeping the intake air cleaner.
Any fuel vapor, oil vapor, or moisture that slips through the piston rings is re-distributed via the PCV back into the intake which effects the quality of the air going into your engine and builds up over time.
The catch can captures and eliminates most of this from going into your intake.
If you look inside your intake, there’s probably small traces of oil that can be mostly eliminated in advance by using a catch can.
Cheers,
Jeff

Keeps clean air in the engine and removes oil vapor that could otherwise get into your intake. My car is an LS2 engine, but has an LS3 intake and has also been cammed. It’s also got a Halltech CAI and Z06 exhaust with custom baffled mufflers.

I definitely recommend connecting with David @ Mighty Mouse and he’ll make sure you’re properly set up. @David@MMS

Cheers,
Jeff

Just installed one on my 2008 Z06 last month. Same excellent experience with MMS, and the can is a work of art. Nice write-up OP!

I did a Mighty Mouse Catch Can when I did my SC build. Catch Can fit in nicely between the battery and the fuse box.

MM is a superior product when I compared it to all the others.

Are these beneficial on a naturally aspirated engine? I have one on my gen 2 raptor and every few months there is 1/8” of nasty smelly oil inside.

It depends how the PCV system is designed. I planned in a catch can on my car at the time I was doing the FI. FI changes the intake air flow dynamics from N/A.

It's not sufficient to only evaluate the impact of a catch can by what is in it after the install. A catch can (if installed properly) will always have an oil residue in it, but that doesn't mean the original PCV system was not working either.

Looks good. Totally agree. When I did my research, the Mighty Mouse product was superior to all the others I considered.

Did Mighty Mouse provide that bracket? It looks different than normal head mount one I have.

Yes, when communicating with Dave @ MM, he told me about the bracket which is part of the newest Gen 6 Catch Can. He also suggested I mention to include the spacers (no additional charge) on my order so that I could clear the fuel rail covers. The fit of everything was perfect.
