Default Learn Mode / TPMS

2013 427 Convertible - had two TPMS sensors go bad (R/F & R/R). Replaced the sensors and I have the tool to pair them, but I can't get the car into relearn mode. Park brake on / ignition in run position (engine off) / press the lock and unlock buttons on the fob simultaneously and nothing happens - no beep, nothing. What am I missing? Tried it with both fobs - same result. Thanks for any insight.

I was always confused on whether car goes into RUN or ACCY. Repair Manual states ACCY. Not sure if a difference if FOB or scan tool intitalize.

TPM Learn Procedure
Important: Before proceeding, ensure that no other learn procedure is being performed simultaneously or that tire pressures are not being adjusted on another TPM equipped vehicle within close proximity. Stray signals from other TPM equipped vehicles just driving by can be inadvertently learned. If any random horn chirps are heard from the vehicle while performing the learn procedure, most likely a stray sensor has been learned and the procedure will need to be cancelled and repeated. Under these circumstances, performing the TPM Learn Procedure away from other vehicles would be highly recommended. In the event a particular sensor activation does not cause the horn to chirp, it may be necessary to rotate the wheel valve stem to a different position due to the sensor signal is being blocked by another component.

1-Place the electronic keyless ignition in the ACCY position.
2-Using a scan tool, initiate the TPM Learn Mode. A horn chirp will sound indicating the Learn Mode has been enabled.
3-Starting with the left front tire, hold the antenna of the J-46079 aimed upward against the tire sidewall close to the wheel rim at the valve stem location. Press and release the activate button and wait for a horn chirp.
4-After the horn chirp has sounded, repeat step 3 for the remaining 3 sensors in the following order:
• Right front

• Right rear

• Left rear

5-After the LR sensor has been learned, a double horn chirp will sound indicating all sensors have been learned.
6-Place the electronic keyless ignition in the OFF position to exit the learn mode.
7-After the learn mode has been exited, adjust all tires to the recommended pressures.

Having done it using the fob, the car needs to be in ACCY mode, and not run mode (which in the good old days we used to call ignition on). Then press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the fob at the same time. I don’t think the parking brake position matters, but I’m pretty sure mine wasn’t on. As said above, the horn will sound once when the car enters programming mode.

Mine only does it if the doors are closed and locked. So I roll down the driver's window, reach in and put the car in accessory mode then hit rhe lock/unlock on the fob.

Thanks everyone. I put in Accessory mode (also locked the doors - don't know if that was needed) and it went into learn mode. Paired all the sensors - 100%.

Well, good. You know, it’s not like there isn’t an onboard computer system and UI of sorts, so how difficult would it have been to add to the options setting a way to easily learn the fobs and TPMS sensors? But no, you gotta rub your belly in counter clockwise circles while patting your head and walking backwards around the car clockwise while muttering obscure incantations.
