Default Map light colour

I've had my 2006 convertible for a little less than two months. The map lights on the rearview mirror are purple, which is pretty useless as they aren't bright enough to light up the car. There are also lights in the foot wells that are the same colour. Is there a way to change the colour? I can't find anything in the manual about this.

I once had a Ford Escape that had lights in the cup holders and footwells, and there was a button in the car that allowed you to scroll through the colours. Is there something similar in the corvette that I'm missing? These dim purple lights are really annoying me.

I doubt it's related, but there is an after market wind restrictor installed that has different led colours with a remote, but it's not currently connected and the remote is broken. I mention it just in case there's a correlation.

Obviously the previous owner was a Prince fan. Stock lights are typical incandescent off white.

Bulb #194 fits the map lights and footwell. The car shipped from the factory with clear 194 incandescent bulbs, such as these:
Amazon Amazon

There are LED options that will fit and easy to find on Amazon. I’ve got these installed in my car’s mirror having replaced them about 6 years ago.
Amazon Amazon
. And the reason I replaced them is because they had previously been replaced by a PO with LEDs, and the right one was melted. I don’t recall the job being difficult at all and I just pulled the old bulbs out with my fingers. However, there are threads on here that make it sound like the 194 bubs are difficult to remove. Owners use small zip ties or dental floss to snag them first and that helps. I’ve not needed to replace the footwell lamps, but I read that you need to be a bit of a contortionist to do it. Not sure where in ON you are, but I originally bought a ten pack, so I’ve got to have 8 of them around here. I know for sure there’s maybe 4 of them in the Vettes right cubby. Also from what I read is that some LED lamps don’t turn completely off and still glow faintly. Mine don’t do that.

This is excellent info. Thanks! The Amazon links you included just takes me to my own Amazon home page, not to a product page. So, let's try Canadian Tire. Is this what I need? https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/1...rq=bulb+%23194. I'm perfectly fine with leaving the footwells as they are, but I'd really like to change the map lights.

As for location, I'm in Thornhill/Markham. Near 407 and Leslie. But I have family in Etobicoke, so I'm out there on occasion. I'm also a member of CCO, just in case we have that in common.

HA! The previous owner was my brother. He probably was a Prince fan, but not enough of a fanboy to make anything purple.

Yes, I’m a CCO member, so I’ll likely be at next Wednesday’s meeting, although they haven’t announced where. If the weather is OK I’ll drive the Vette. I’ll ask the membership director if you’re there and then find you. Here’s my ride. There isn’t another one exactly like it in the club.

Gorgeous car! I'm planning on being at the meeting as well. I'll also be at the Trivia night. Here's my car. I'll be the one with the blue/purple map lights. LOL! I'll also be one of the few women in the room.

I tried to send you a private message with my real name, but it seems that you've exceeded your storage space so I can't send it.

I've had good luck replacing the map light and footwell bulbs with white led T10 /194 from Lasfit, amazing brightness.
