Default Run flats tires

Since I purchased my 2008 as is, the tires are Michelin 335-25-ZR20 but didn't know if they were run flats, thanks to ChatGPT, I found out they are not since the letters ZP are no--where in the tire.>!
So, I assume that those who have no run flat, carry along a set of tubeless tire repair kit, pliers, and an inflator pump!

You'd also need a jack. I don't carry any of that equipment in mine. I like to live dangerously

Yes, I have an inflator with a patch/ plug kit (including pliers). If you don't have to change the tire I don't think a jack is needed. I have never had to deal with a flat corvette tire but have had to do it on my truck and SUV before. Best to be prepared!

A can of NON-FLAMMABLE Fix-A-Flat. Also specialty insurance like Haggery has free road-side and flatbed tow service up to 100 miles.

A Vette with a flat is basically sitting flat on the ground. Not sure how you can just poke a plug in the tire with car like that. IMO you need to remove the wheel to do a plug repair.

I have a scissor jack mounted so won't take my head off in a crash, lug wrench, plug kit, fix a flat, 2 tiny cheapie tire inflators as one will probably not work when I need it. Likely overkill as have never needed any in 15 years.

I do carry an air pump, plug kit etc. No jack. Fortunately, never needed it. But I also have AAA Plus membership. Plus gets you a hundred mile tow, I think the base level is only like 3 miles.

You are probably right about the jack after thinking about it - unless it was a nail in a front tire (where you could just turn the wheel). My experience to date with road-side flat repair has been on larger vehicles ...but the corvette rear tires would probably be tricky to get at without removal. Guess I better add that to my shopping list.

I have non runflats and live on the edge. I don't carry a jack or a plug kit and I run all over the country in my Grand Sport.

After finding out my tires were non run flats, I added to the trunk a tubeless tire repair kit, air pump, an aluminum scissor jack and a bottle of soap bubbles!

Default Run Flats - YES

After the big Corvette show near Chicago a few years ago...... went to leave the show and noticed a rear tire looking quite low.....checked pressure and sure enough it needed some air.....but where to get it? Drove to nearest gas station and filled it up.....drove a few miles, stopped and checked and filled up again......and on and on all the way home 150 miles away......sometimes going 30 miles before stopping (always about 50mph)...... why didn't I stop at a shop and get it fixed? SUNDAY they were all closed.
Wish I could get run flats on my other cars.

The idea of trying to fix a flat on the side of the highway with semis blowing by you mere feet away is not something that interests me, I love my run flats

After having the GY F1 runflats and now going to Mich Pilot A/S 4s (non runflat). I'll run the risk of a flat tire and keep a small pump and some slime. The runflats are too harsh and noisey. They also don't handle as well.

I carry nothing. Why? Because while I have gotten a stray nail or screw in tires a few times over the years, it's never been catastrophic.

Good plan as long as you know that the slime will ruin your air pressure sensor.

Yeah, you call them, on hold for 30 minutes finally someone comes on and says there is hour and a half wait. I just canceled them completely and told them to take a hike.

Plug kit, compressor, towel to lay on will be just fine in most circumstances. Most of the time just leave the screw in and add some air if needed. With the rear tire just roll the car forward a little at a time until you see the area that needs repair from behind. Not have mud flaps is helpful too.

I was in Canada in my truck and the water pump went out. Middle of freaking nowhere. They got a tow truck to me in about 1 hour and took me to my motel where my brother and niece were. Unloaded my suit case and cat, put some of my brothers gear in the truck so I could ride with them, then he took the truck another 60 miles to a dealership that was within 20 miles of my final destination. Couldn't have asked for better service.
