I went with Holley Tall valve covers. I personally liked the chrome but they have black ones also. The angled coils give it a better look than OEM, I went to the local hardware store and bought all stainless bolts for the coils. I tossed around the idea of the aftermarket valve covers that also cover the coils but wasnt a fan. If I had the engine out of the car like you currently do I would get a coil relocation kit and put them behind the fenders and get them out of the way all together
To me, the most unsightly thing in the C6 engine bay is the alternator. I don't really like the idea of covering it up. The Mechman alternators are available with a black anodized or a chrome plated finish. I think the black would look pretty good but then you have to do something with the bracket too.

Yeah, coil covers look nice but can trap heat if they’re solid and sit tight over the coils. The LS coils handle some heat, but vented or stand-off style covers are a safer bet. If you’re not into chrome, wrinkle black or powder-coated aluminum looks clean without being flashy. What motor are you building?
Thanks!
