Hello back in 2012 I upgraded my navigation radio to the new 2012 with the USB port in the console last week our replaced my battery and now I’ve lost the clock in the GPS signal but all the fixes that I could find are for 2005 to 2010 if anyone had this problem or know of a fix for it any help would be greatly appreciated
Seeking clarification here......
What model year is your Corvette?
Did your Corvette originally have a NAV radio, or a non-NAV one?
When you say "new 2012 Navigation radio with USB port", is it brand new or was it previously installed in a different Corvette?
If the radio is "used", did you have it programed inside your Corvette, to your VIN number?
Are you certain, your so-called "new" radio is for a Corvette? Is the C6 Corvette logo being displayed?
Did all the lost features you mentioned, work prior to replacing your battery?
When you say "replacing battery", do you mean the main battery for the engine?
It is early in the morning here, having my first cup of coffee. Maybe I missed something.
Yes the car originally came the navigation radio, but it was updated with over-the-counter brand new GM radio in 2012. It’s been working fine ever since until the battery was replaced last week and now I no longer receive a GPS signal I swapped out the gps module to no avail.
Your terminology is making it confusing, at least to me. There was a factory nav unit that has a cd player, radio, and has a built in GPS module integrated into the nav unit. The only external GPS-related component is the antenna. I’m familiar with the unit because my 2011 came with one. So if you replaced the GPS module, I’m not understanding that. There’s no separate GPS module. The nav unit can extract the time of day from the GPS signal, and that’s normally how it keeps the time updated. There’s a way to manually set the time. It’s in the attached manual. Also, there was a software bug that revealed itself back in 2018 I believe wherein the pre 2011 units couldn’t handle the date rollover in the signal, and a firmware fix was worked out and made available. If your unit is from 2012, it shouldn’t be affected by that, although the symptoms sound the same - time disappears after a battery disconnect.

great reply. I think i may have the firmware update saved to my desktop pc
Google OEM c6 nav clock fix. This will fix your problem. GM did NOT issue this patch. (Thank you GM for not offering a fix for your programing error) It was developed by a fellow Vette enthusiast. It works great.

I know for sure I saved the update, but the rule here is “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. The problem reportedly only occurred on pre 2011 NAV units. I don’t know of anyone who applied the update to a 2011+ unit, or why they would do that. In the worse case, the NAV unit gets bricked. And in the dim past, I bricked a couple of PCs by flashing the BIOS because the process failed. The OP is supposed to have a 2012 NAV unit. It’s more likely that the antenna has become disconnected if it can’t get a GPS signal. Just my .02

Put an after market head unit in and you'll be free of the issue!
Trust us. Your car isnt going to lose value or otherwise become less of a Vette with an aftermarket radio. If I also remember correctly, they dont even make updates for the C6 GPS system any longer.
