Default Keyfob

Good afternoon,
I have a 2006 C6 and would like to have an additional keyfob since fob 2 is missing. I purchased an after market from Amazon, but not luck. I get it to the point where the dash tells me to set up fob 3, I put in the glovebox slot and nothing. Are there preferred aftermarket’s or is it OEM only? Thank you…

Chinese ones may be hit or miss, but the fob is likely fine and maybe a procedural thing.

Not sure if this helps, but here is a video I put together on how to add a new fob.
Getting into the sync mode is kind of a pain and took several times

How to: Add a new keyfob to your C6 Corvette

Just to make sure you’re not making an easy to fix mistake, the fob has to be inserted into the slot key ring out, buttons facing the passenger side. It can’t work any other way. Make sure the fob is fully inserted. As a test, when it asks for fob 3, insert the one good fob you do have. You should get a message about it being a ‘known’ fob, on the display. This will not harm the known fob, but it will tell you if the slot is capable of seeing anything. There’s an antenna right behind the slot that needs to be there. They’ve been known to become dislodged and fall down, putting them out of range.

Thanks for recommending the car and truck remotes vendor—it worked great.

For the carsandtrackus fob ... curious ... will the hatch open without pressing a button?? That is the flaw I have noted in all the "clone" fobs I have tried (the passive feature works fine with the doors but not the hatch for some odd reason).

Nearly 2 years ago now, for my 2013 GS automatic with 3LT (with memory seats).....

I bought 2 new functional FOBs off eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/386032150374
For my 2 beat up original FOBs, I bought 2 new FOB housings off eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/296094555891

Everything works and fits as they should. The 2 functional ones programmed properly, so I have 4 working FOBs though I am not sure if all 4 work with the Memory seats. The 2013 might be limited to 2 or 3 memory seat settings.

As I recall, the programming process was finicky, but I managed to get the car to recognize all 4 for opening the doors, the trunk, and starting the car.
