Default 08 base A-6 HELP!

I recently brought my first corvette its an auto 2008 ls3. The first time I drove it, it felt amazing now it feels off but I don't know if that's because I'm worried. I had a code pop up a couple days ago - P0171 the code was on for about 20 mins and it went away. I cleaned the MAF sensor and I did a smoke test through the intake. I found nothing but now it feels worse after doing all that. The shifts feel really hard and just not how it was from the start. If anyone knows why its like this please lmk. Also the car has a holley intech cold air intake.

How many miles on it? Were you driving in D or S? I run my 2013 in S and use the paddle shifters quite often. Higher RPM upshifts can feel rough, like 4 or 4500 RPM will feel noticeably rougher than 2000

If you only had a P0171 (bank 1 lean) this would NOT be a MAF sensor...you would have both a P0171 and 0174 and possibly a MAF DTC...what do your fuel trims look like at idle and under load ??...this is engine diagnostics 101.

Some TSBs reference P0171 for 2008

#08-06-04-040 refers to a gap at the radiator that causes an air intake disturbance
#03-06-04-030F refers to dirty/clogged fuel injectors

I got it checked out by a local shop and they couldn't tell me a reason they just said its most likely my aftermarket intake causing this issue and that I have to get it tuned in but I don't know they deleted the code and now a week later it came back on, the previous owner said it was the gas cap but the shop said its coming from the front.

A gas cap would NOT cause a P0171...your local shop is incompetent...get your car diagnosed by a professional diagnostician...they can diagnose any car !!

They told me that it was coming from the intake area and that they needed my stock one so they could do tests but I brought the car with the aftermarket intake so I couldn't provide it for the testing. They didn't find any vacuum leaks. The previous owner was the one who said the gas-cap was the issue.

If there are no vacuum leaks from the intake it is NOT the intake or Both banks would be lean. Find a new shop.

How EXACTLY did they know it was coming from the intake area ??...did they look at fuel trims ??...they MUST look at both banks...if elevated fuel trims on one bank it may be a leaky intake runner...it would not be your induction system like your aftermarket intake.

Not according to the code you mentioned. Seriously find a new shop before they end up selling you an engine.

Well what did your fuel trims look like ??...knowing if one or both banks are affected is a whole new diagnostic approach...that shop is incompetent !!

To be honest I don't know what they did and I should have asked more questions at the time. Also I forgot to mention they said both banks are running lean

I would get the car diagnosed ACCURATELY and get it fixed...I would not put this off.
