I searched and read ALOT of forum post on bilstein shocks.
08 Z51 stock height with 40k mi. I roll race, I race very curvy mountain roads, and some drag racing. Mostly I just do spirited driving. Im going towards B8s and no I do not want to see responses about them only being for lowered cars.
A few of the forum post several people mentioned using the B8s in the rear, and B6s up front. Why and to what advantage?
Unless you're like, absolutely sure of what you're doing with suspension design, I would not run different shocks front to rear. Having a dampening I'm alance like that can do some funky things to the car's suspension, and unless you know what you're doing with it, it's not advised.
To be fair, 99% of people who do know what they're doing enough for that would likely be running double or triple adjustable shocks anyways.
Not sure of the reason for pairing B6's & B8's. I'd go with B8's all around. They should work well for the driving you described. FWIW, I run the stiffer B8 DRM's for track duty and don't find them uncomfortable driving around town.
