Default Stoopid TPMS sensor question

Long story short I bought Forgestar wheels and tires with new sensors that only had a few hundred miles on them. When it came time for me to pair the sensors we couldn’t get them to work. He has a 2008 Z06 and I have a 2011 grand sport. Brought it to the dealer hoping it was somethibt simple and they couldn’t get them to pair, they wouldn’t recognize my if they put the sensors in as a 2011 model but when they put it in as a 2008 it would recognize the sensor there but wouldn’t pair to my car. Is there any way to override this without pulling the tires off and putting new sensors in? Dealership wanted around a grand just to do that. The weird thins is on rock auto some of the part numbers are identical for 08 and 11 cars. Im
hopint the dealership just wanted to sell me goods. Any insight is appreciated.

Don't take it to a chevy dealership. There has to be discount tire or another tire shop around.

Preprogrammed TPMS sensors are specific to model years. Generally speaking, there’s a set that work for 2005-2009, another for 2010-2013. They are incompatible with each other.

Ya as "jbc1995fb" said for tire work and brake work take it to a good tire shop not a dealer.
If you have to get other work done like oil changes they can probably do that to.
Dealer only for warranty or last resort.
I see you have thousands of posts and I'm surprised you went to a dealer for tpms work.

Well that sucks. I brought it there previously becsuse a well know tire shop couldn’t get one to pair on my old wheels and it was free. Was hoping it his go around would be the same but I found a place to bring it to that works on a lot of cars with aftermarket wheels so I’ll use them.

I've learned that it usually isn't worth it to save a buck on important things.
Tp and such maybe.
I'd get new sensors and take it to a known good shop, not a new "found" one.

Not hijacking Slowtealz’s thread but I’ve got a TPMS read problem as well.
In my case, I can’t get my car to enter in the learn mode.
I’ve tried everything the internet says to do but no luck.
Followed everything step by step but nothing.
Any suggestions?

“When doing the relearn procedure, the first thing you do is to put the ignition in the ACCESSORY mode by pushing the bottom of the ignition switch to get the yellow light illuminated by ACC.”

Entering relearn is the problem.
No matter what I try the programming won’t change.

Maybe if you reboot the electronics it might help. Disconnect both battery clamps and touch the two clamps together for a few seconds to drain any residual power from the various modules. Then reconnect the battery and see if that helps. And you’ve been around long enough to know you’ll probably need to reindex the windows. Then while in accessory mode, press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the fob at the same time. Horn should chirp. I also should ask if you’ve got a custom tune locked in. If so, that could prevent you from entering programming mode.

Thanks Fats. Will definitely give it a try.
No custom tune so I’m ok there.

Do you know if you are getting the car into relearn mode? I put new tires on a couple of years ago and bought Schrader brand from Tire Rack, discount tire did the mounting and install but couldn't get the new sensors to link up with the car. I did some research on here and figured out how to get the car into "relearn mode" and after that it only took me a couple of minutes to sync them up. I've looked around on here trying to find that procedure but not having any luck at the moment.

That’s my problem Cadyshac - the car won’t go into “relearn mode”
Tried holding the two key fob buttons as well the other ways to enter relearn mode.
No luck!!

The sensors have to be the proper frequency. If they aren't there is nothing you can do to make them work. If that is the case you will have to change the sensors. Sam's Club does it cheap.

I wish I could remember the procedure I used to get my car into learn mode. I found it with a google search but I've tried and I'm not sure I am finding the same procedure now. Good luck to you, once I figured out how to get into learn mode the rest was easy for me.

If it's not going into relearn mode, try disconnecting the battery and putting a new battery in your fob. Hold down the bottom of the start button until it goes into accessory mode, then press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time until the horn beeps. If the horn beeps it's in relearn mode, then you use the TPMS tool to start pairing.
