So we all know Z cars and M6 GS cars (and I'm sure others) come with the battery in the rear storage box in the trunk. Many have relocated their battery to the trunk for numerous reasons.
Some of which include reduced heat to the battery. Reduced chance for the battery to leak on the ecm and wiring. Some companies are making a kit to do it.
If I were to do it I wouldn't use a kit. I would use 00 100% copper welding wire with solder lug terminals.
My question to those that have done it, is it worth $275?
I think if I had one again in the hatch I would put it back by the engine. lol It's just easier to charge n change.
Interesting take. I would think it easier to changefrom the rear.
As for charging how about something like this just inside the rear brake duct to connect a Noco Genius 10?

It aint. Unless you had one you have no idea what a PIA it is.

Kind of the same idea, I got longer lead for a battery tender. IIRC it was around 6' long, connected to the battery cables and runs down to the grill area. Very simple to connect a battery tender to it. I kept another set in the trunk, so I can jumper a battery charger to it if need be. When it's in the garage I leave the hood unlatched just-in-case but it's nice to know there's a backup if needed. Hope that helps.
The battery in the trunk is no big deal to charge or change. I have my charger wired up front , no big deal.
Would I relocate it just for fun? No. Would I relocate it if I needed that space for a blower coolant tank or something like that? Yeah. I wouldn't do it just to maybe save some battery life either.
