Many brand-new Corvette buyers are older (like me) and no longer crave a loud exhaust, especially when it offers little performance improvement. Chevrolet likely considered that when designing the car.
Some of us had our day in 1970 Camaros with a loud Cherry Bomb Glasspack poorly installed so low it scraped whenever you encountered a big hump in the road. Love the sparks, though.
