Re: C6 Performance...how will it stack up? (Traceys2vettes)
Autoweek says the XLR turns 0-60 in 5.7 with a 320 horse Northstar. The C6 on the similar chassis is suposed to have between 405 and 425. Basic algebra says that would be in the 4.2 range.
C6 looks to have the same or a little more power than the ZO6 and a lower weight. I'm betting the C6 standard coupe runs with today's ZO6. Alot will depend on the torque numbers and final gearing. But I wouldn't be suprised to see a sub 4 0-60 and high 12's through the quarter.

except that the relationship between HP and acceleration is not linear. Pulling 0-60 times in the high threes would be quite a feat with 425 HP and 3200+ lbs.

Re: C6 Performance...how will it stack up? (GoForBroke)
Just got my new Car & Driver - about 6 pages on the XLR (they like it alot by the way), with the C6 mentioned several times in the article. C&D also got a 0-60 time of 5.7. They list the weight at about 3660. Rumors have the C6 hitting the floor at 3100 lbs. But, comparisons between these two at this point seem a bit useless. The engines are very different, the tires are much smaller on the XLR, the chassis are tuned very differntly, the XLR carries 400-500 lbs more weight. Just not much insight from my point of view.
