As some of you know, I work in Powertrain Transmission at GM.
I overheard some really bad problems with our future transmission and the future Vette motor. Evidently, the development gurus are having a hard time calibrating because with anything over 30% throttle... the tires won't hook up. ;)
I feel sorry for those Vette fans. :D
This was posted by someone who supposedly works for GM on another forum. hmm...
To me, the most interesting thing about this "information" is that it originated on a "C6 Development" thread on a Volkswagon forum. This is another example of how important the release of a new vette generation is to the entire automotive world. Everyone is interested regardless of their manufacturer of choice. There aren't many marks that have their activities followed as closely. Maybe it's because the car itself is always such a blur as it passes them on the road!
EDIT: Not saying that the tires won't be able to hook up, that might be fact or fiction, but I'm certain that they do have a TCS. Maybe with it off, it doesn't hook up?
