Default C6 mods?

How soon after release will after market basic mods be available for the C6? Like airlid/breather mods, suspension, exhaust, headers, etc...

I would say it depends on how soon the tuner companies get the car. But i think we have to remember that the engine will be very similar to ls1/ls6 so maybee a few months at tyhe most.

I would guess as soon as they can design them ... for the SRT Viper ... it took about 2 months for intakes and other basic mods ... I would not see a problem with that timeline for the C6

I'm sure the cold-air-induction crowd will be sportin' wood within a couple months of introduction. The bling-bling crowd will be posing with their billet aluminum muck-up kits and superchromed wheels within weeks.

Substantial performance modifications will take longer... unless suspension parts turn out to be bolt-on compatible from C5 to C6, in which case it's just a matter of the webmasters of the catalog sites doing some copy/paste work and increasing the price...

I bet real engine treatments will take close to a year to hit the street in customer cars, unless somebody's really brave.

I bet we will see them faster than that. The Vette has a bigger aftermarket and there is alot more money in Vettes than Vipers for the tuner companies. They will have stuff out there in a flash.

I'd like to see one tubbed with 12" wide rims out back... with what appears to be less of an overhang from rear tire to the back of the car on the C6 and center mounted exhaust we may be able to see the steam rollers a bit better :D

:iagree: Maybe a HYpertech programmer in 6 mo to make better use of the aftermarket air intakes.

As far as I am concerned ...

wheels do not count ... since anyone can have them chromed ...

but performance mods ... like
intakes and exhaust ... 2 to 6 months ...
turbo's and superchargers ... 12 to 18 months ... unless the engine is very similar to the LS1 and the systems can be modified to work (like in the SRT Viper)

Personally ... anyone who want's to do major performance mod's will either have to risk being a tester ... or wait ...

I for one will do brakes and rims ... and paint ... and stereo ... then performance...
